PMC Appeals Medical Practitioners and Pathology Clinics To Update About Water And Vector Borne Diseases

The Pune Municipal Corporation has appealed to the healthcare professionals, pathology clinics, medical practitioners to timely update about the patients coming up with vector borne and water borne diseases.

The civic body stated that as per the Maharashtra Public Health Act 2021, it is mandatory to report about such cases within prescribed time frame. The list of diseases such as Cholera, Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue, Viral typhoid, Leptospirosis, Malaria, Gastroenteritis, Chikungunya and other diseases notified by the government.

Failing to inform about such patients may lead to action under Maharashtra Public Health Act 2002 (amended) and Infectious Diseases Act 1890.
