Pune News : PMPML seeks Rs 188 cr financial assistance from PMRDA

Pune : Chairman and Managing Director of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) on Friday, March 17 had sought financial help of Rs 188 crore from Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to run PMPML buses in PMRDA region.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Guardian Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil had a meeting yesterday with officials from PMPML,PMRDA to discuss the issue in detail.

Chairman and Managing Director of PMPML Om Prakash Bakoria told that as of now we are running a total 477 buses out of our total 2089 buses in PMRDA region. Our operational cost to run 477 buses in the PMRDA region is around Rs 188 crore. That’s why we are requesting financial help of Rs 188 crore from PMRDA.’’

Om Prakash Bakoria said yesterday’s meeting was very positive, we have conveyed our demands and we are hopeful that the Chief Minister , deputy Chief Minister and guardian minister will take decision regarding it soon.

 According to PMPML officials, as per company’s act PMPML to get 60:40 revenue from Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation respectively of the total operational costs.
