Pune News : PMRDA assures completion of double-decker flyover within 11 months

Pune: In the next 11 months, the 1.7 km long double decker flyover from Savitribai Phule Pune University to RBI Junction is scheduled to be completed, informed Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Ramdas Jagtap, Deputy Collector & PRO, PMRDA said, “The flyover construction & completion is scheduled to be completed by August 2024. The project concessionaire has also requested additional funds of Rs 26 crore to increase the number of people and machinery to speed up the flyover construction, which is currently being evaluated by PMRDA. With the help of the PMC & Police, we are on track to complete the double deck flyover around August 2024.”
As per further information provided by Jagtap, the mega flyover project is part of the third Metro line between Hinjewadi and Shivaji Nagar. The project was initially scheduled to be completed by November 2024. Initially, the flyover project cost was Rs 239 crore. The additional Rs 26 crore will increase the total project cost to Rs 265 crore.
The PMC is assisting the PMRDA in terms of land acquisition as there are 3 to 4 lands that need to be acquired for expedited completion of the double deck flyover. The PMC has acquired some lands. The police are assisting in the permission of barricading the flyover sites.
During the meeting, the PMRDA also discussed the matter of expediting the process of land acquisition for road widening and ramp construction in the Pune Unified Urban Transport Authority meeting.
PMRDA has also asked for immediate barricading permission for ramp construction in the Aundh and Pashan areas.
