Pune News : Police takes action against Desert Water restaurant in Koregaon Park for playing loud music
Pune:Â The Desert Water Restaurant and Bar in the Koregaon Park area of Pune city faced action from the Social Security Cell, Pune City Police for playing loud music late beyond permissible limit and time. The incident took place on March 11, when the police officers were on patrol and noticed loud music coming from the restaurant.
Upon investigation, the officers found that the music was being played on a sound system that was installed in the restaurant. As a result, the officers took action against the owner and manager of the restaurant and seized the sound system, which was worth Rs 1,10,000.
The action was taken under the Environmental Protection Act, 1986 and the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control of 2000) Act. The police officers have also taken the necessary steps to ensure that the regulations under the Noise Pollution and Environment Protection Act are being followed at the location.
The seized material, the sound system, has been taken into custody at the Koregaon Park Police Station. The action was taken under the orders and guidance of Amol Zende, Senior Police Inspector in charge of the Social Security Department.
