Pune News : Repairs Of Broken Water Pipeline Due To Landslide Begins In Pimple Saudagar

A water channel suffered a breakage due to a landslide at a new construction site on Kunal Icon Road in Pimple Saudagar. Ajay Suryavanshi, the Executive Engineer of the Water Supply Department, assured that the repair work for the channel is being undertaken at an urgent pace and is expected to be completed by late night.

With the meteorological department issuing an orange alert for heavy rainfall in the district, the municipal corporation has advised citizens to stay vigilant. In case of any emergency situation, residents are urged to contact the Municipal Control Room for assistance. Early on July 20, the Municipal Corporation received reports of a road blockade caused by a landslide at a construction site in the Pimple Saudagar area. As a result, the water supply and drainage systems in the vicinity were affected. The municipal team promptly arrived at the location to assess the situation.

Gyandev Jundhare, associate city engineer, PCMC provided details about the incident, stating that the landslide occurred at the commercial and residential building site of Sukhwani Ramchandani LLP Builder on Kunal Icon Road. The excavation for the basement led to the collapse of a 50-meter long and approximately three-meter wide stretch of the road. A joint inspection of the area was conducted in collaboration with the Traffic Department’s Police Inspector, Gokule. Presently, traffic is smoothly flowing on this route, and barricading has been set up at the affected area. The builder has been instructed to fill the disturbed site and deploy security guards for safety.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh and Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil have taken note of the situation and issued directives to restore the affected water supply promptly. Under the guidance of Joint City Engineer Shrikant Sawane and Executive Engineer Ajay Suryavanshi, the Water Supply Department is working diligently to resolve the issue on a priority basis. The repair work is expected to be completed by late night, ensuring smooth water supply in the area. As the meteorological alert remains in effect, authorities are committed to addressing the situation promptly and ensuring the safety of residents in Pimple Saudagar.
