Pune News : Rotary Club of Amanora Holds Tree Plantation Drive : Urges to Plant Native Trees

Pune: “Tree Plantation and conservation are important to maintain the balance of the environment. Everyone realized the importance of oxygen during Corona. For good health, native trees should be planted and not exotic ones,” said Manju Rastogi, President of the Rotary Club of Amanora. Rastogi was speaking during the tree plantation drive organized at Gangatara Vridhashram. Rastogi also added that leafy vegetables should be a part of everyone’s diet.

Tree plantation was done on behalf of the Rotary Club of Amanora in the Gangadham Vridhashram area of Vadki (now Haveli). President Manju Rastogi, Secretary Sridevi Narayan, Saras Venkat, Sonia Menghani, Praveen Prasad, Geeta Mohan, Dimple Seth, Ninad Shelar, Sanjeev Rastogi, Tanija Agarwal, Shruti Kasar, Tanishk Agarwal and other dignitaries were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Adv. Lakshmi Mane, Secretary highlighted the importance of fruits. She said that many people visit old age homes with a lot of fruits. So, fruit trees should be planted more so that the next generation will be able to eat fresh fruits in that season.

Meanwhile, in the old age home, cows are being cared for only by the elderly. 

Neeta Bhosale, founder president of Ganga Tara said that everyone has started to understand the importance of natural food grains, fruits and leafy vegetables for health.
