Pune: The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) organized a fierce Raasta Roko Andolan on Wednesday against the rising incidents of road accidents and mishaps on the Katraj Kondhwa road.

As per information, Mahadev Babar, Former MLA Hadapsar Constituency, Shiv Sena (UBT), has said that a lot of cases of deaths due to road accidents, mishaps etc are happening for a long time on Katraj Kondhwa road. The then Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had promised to repair the entire road to ensure no accident takes place. However, nothing has been done about this road till now. Only 20% per cent of the work is done that too for the namesake. Traffic has also increased and there is no traffic management. The incumbent government is completely responsible for this dire condition here. When will the Rs 200 lakh crore fund announced by the Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis be available for the betterment of the Katraj & Kondhwa? Not even a single rupee has been given for its betterment. If this fund is not released immediately, then we will not allow any minister, MLA or MP to pass from here.”

During the protest former MLA Mahadev Babar, Vijay Deshmukh, District Chief, Sangeeta Thosar, Former Corporator, Sameer Tupe, Deputy Head Rajendra Babar, former NIBM corporator Tanaji Lonkar & many more were present.

Road between the Kondhwa Smashanbhumi on the Katraj Kondhwa to Iskcon Temple is a narrow road and with the incomplete road leads to traffic congestion throughout the day. The local residents have been demanding immediate completion of the road work and deploying additional workforce to handle the increasing traffic.
