Pune News : Special Voter Registration Drive Set To Be Held on August 5 In Pune Housing Societies
Special camp organized on holidays in Pune Cantonment constituency for voter registration
In a bid to strengthen the democratic process and increase voter participation, a special voter registration campaign is all set to take place on August 5 (Saturday) in housing societies across Pune.
The responsibility of conducting house-to-house visits for voter registration and verification will lie with the Booth Level Officers (BLO). Their primary goal is to ensure that all eligible voters are included in the voter list. Additionally, they will work to exclude the names of individuals who have permanently moved away from the area or those who are deceased. To facilitate this, the citizens will be required to fill out Form number 7.
Furthermore, the campaign aims to rectify any errors present in the voters’ list or voter ID cards. This will be accomplished by filling out Form number 8, which allows for the necessary corrections.
For the convenience of new voters, an online registration option is available. Those who wish to register online can do so by visiting https://voters.eci.gov.in.
During the campaign, interested participants will need to provide certain documents to complete the registration process. These include Proof of Residence, which can be verified using an Aadhar Card, Driving License, Indian Passport, or a scanned copy of the first page of a nationalized bank account book. Proof of Age can be established using an Aadhar Card, Driving License, Indian Passport, School Leaving Certificate, or PAN Card.
Additionally, individuals need to submit a recent passport-size color photograph with a white background. If the voter is a tenant, a registered tenancy agreement will also be required.
