Pune News : Students enthralled in SPPU’s Science day exhibition

Savitribai Phule Pune University held science day celebrations in its premises in the last two days. On February 28 students from various schools and colleges visited the exhibition.  

Children’s games were set up as the university’s zoology department displayed preserved animals and bird species. Several projects were also presented by students.

At the Irawati Karve Museum of the Department of Anthropology, information about palaeontology and the role of human bones in human evolution was provided along with a tour of the facility. Also, the Department of Biotechnology disseminated knowledge about the science of biotechnology via posters, technology, scientific games, competitions, and experiments.

The Department of Botany shared information on biodiversity, the value of compost, medicinal plants, coarse grains and their uses, and the green house model in honour of Science Day. The laboratory was accessible to everyone by the department of microbiology. There were some interactive events and poster shows.

In addition, Science Park, Physics, Ecology, Chemistry, and Mathematics Departments participated in a variety of activities to mark Science Day.
