Pune News : Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte receives ‘Women’s Coach of the Year Award’ at Asian Chess Summit

Grandmaster Abhijit Kunte from Indian Oil, a Dhyan Chand Awardee was conferred with the ‘Women’s Coach of the Year Award’ in recognition of his exceptional contribution towards training of the Indian Women Chess Team. 

The Indian Women’s Team secured a bronze medal at the 44th FIDE Chess Olympiad, 2022 held in Chennai for the first time.

The award was announced by the Asian Chess Federation and was given at the Asian Chess Summit at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on March 1, 2023. 

The 45-year-old Kunte was felicitated by Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifah Al Nahyan – President, Asian Chess Federation at the 5th Annual Asian Chess Excellence Awards function.
