Pune: The Chandni Chowk flyover construction, being carried out by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), is currently in progress. The work of laying girders for the flyover has been scheduled from April 15th to 20th. As a result, traffic in the area will be diverted through alternative routes during this period. The new flyover is set to be inaugurated on May 1st, as announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.

Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh visited the NDA Chowk area on March 15th to inspect the ongoing work and ensure that it is completed on time. The construction of a new bridge to replace the old demolished one is progressing rapidly, with the work of laying graders scheduled for April 15th to 20th.

Prior to commencing this work, traffic will be diverted to alternative routes, and the public will be duly informed about the same, as stated by Collector Dr. Deshmukh.
Speaking about the progress, Collector Dr. Deshmukh stated, “A review was conducted by NHAI regarding the new flyover and roads at NDA Chowk area. As per the review, 90 percent of the flyovers and roads in this intersection have been completed. The work of erecting the necessary pillars for the new flyover has been completed, and the work of laying the girders of the flyover will be done from April 15th to 20th. NHAI plans to divert traffic for two days during this period.”

In addition to the Chandni Chowk flyover, the construction of the subway to Mulshi is also in progress in Pune. Furthermore, the works of Bavadhan to Satara and Bhavan to Mulshi roads have been completed, and these roads will be open for motorists from April 10th, according to NHAI.

Motorists traveling on the Chandni Chowk route will need to use alternative routes for two days due to the ongoing construction work. The service road passing through Chandni Chowk has been completed and will serve as an alternative route during this period. The government is expected to announce the details of the diversion soon.
