Pune News : Truck catches fire on Lonavala Highway; No casualties reported  

As per the information provided, when heading back after preparations, the fire brigade team of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) noticed a truck enroute on the Pune Lonavala highway had caught fire. The team was returning from bandobast from the President’s visit in Lonavala.

As per the information received, the wooden plank on the truck caught fire. Later, the fire was swiftly extinguished within 10 minutes. It was later discovered that the truck was carrying coal. The prompt action of the fire officials and personnel averted a major accident. No causalities were reported in this incident.

PMRDA Fire officer Vijay Mahajan, along with driver Rahul Shirole, fireman Vikas Gaikwad, Vineet Kharat, Omkar Patil, and Mahendra Deshmukh, were part of this operation in containing the fire.
