Pune: In a unique move, the Wadgaon Sheri and Kalyani Nagar residents have written a letter to Pune Pulse to express their appreciation towards Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Health Inspector Pradipkumar Raut posted in the health and sanitation department. The letter stated, ‘We are writing to express our sincere appreciation for the commendable actions taken by PMC Officer Pradipkumar Raut in addressing the issue of indiscriminate garbage disposal in Wadgaon Sheri and along Dmart Road, Kalyani Nagar, Pune. On July 5, 2023, at 11:30 AM, Officer Raut swiftly imposed fines on shopkeepers who were contributing to the nuisance by littering, using plastic, and dumping waste in public places.’

It is worthy to note that Raut was recently transferred to the Nagar Road Ward Office. Immediately he has taken up the task of holding violators accountable and ensuring cleanliness in the area.

The letter further stated, ’ His prompt and decisive actions have earned the admiration of local residents. It is disheartening to witness the growing menace of garbage littering, which not only tarnishes the beauty of our city but also poses significant risks to public health and the environment. By imposing fines on the shopkeepers responsible, Raut has not only sent a strong message against such behaviour but has also set an example for others to follow.’

It is crucial to acknowledge the efforts of officials like Officer Pradipkumar Raut, who work tirelessly to ensure our city remains clean and habitable for its residents. Such initiatives contribute to a healthier and more sustainable environment, benefiting the well-being of both current and future generations.

The letter also said, ‘We would also like to extend our gratitude to the PMC for their continued support in addressing this issue and their dedication to improving overall cleanliness standards in our beloved city.’

In conclusion, the letter read, ‘We strongly believe that it is important for the community to come together and appreciate the efforts of individuals like Pradipkumar Raut, PMC health Inspector, whose commitment to maintaining cleanliness creates a positive impact on our surroundings. We hope that his actions will serve as an inspiration for others and encourage responsible waste management practices throughout the city.’
