Pune : Over 800 Godrej Greens residents of Undri await possession of properties since 2020

Over 800 buyers are awaiting the possession of their dream homes at the Godrej Greens project located in Undri. The investors alleged that the builder has not furnished the exact details of the handover of the property and is just giving lame excuses and false assurances.

The frustrated residents also informed that they shall approach the local Police station as they have been allegedly cheated by the builder by not giving them the exact area as earmarked in their documents, taking 95 percent money before completing the project and also not responding to any of the emails sent to them.

Harassed investor in the property, Arshad Mulani, filed an RTI in the Pune Municipal Corporation seeking information about the delayed occupancy certificate from the municipal body. The residents were shocked to see that the builder had failed to hand over PMC a piece of land to the civic body due to which the OC was delayed.

When Pune Pulse spoke to an officer in the building permission department, Pune Municipal Corporation, he said that the builder had filed for completing the documentation process for the handover. Within a few days the process of handing over the piece of land should be complete after which the necessary process for occupancy certificate can be initiated.

When Pune Pulse got in touch with the builders office, they stated, “Our team has been in constant touch with all stakeholders, and we have provided updates to customers, assuring them that we will make best efforts to obtain the occupancy certificate by July 2023.”  

“We understand the importance of timely delivery and would like to assure all customers of Godrej Greens that possession of their homes will be granted soon, as per the extended timelines,” informed Godrej Properties Spokesperson.

Mandar Pawar, an investor in the Godrej Greens had booked a flat in the year 2018 and was expecting the possession of the flat in December 2020. But even after the date has crossed there has been no communication from the builders side about the delay of the possession of the flat. Whenever we try to communicate with the builder through message or email we get an automated response that the team will get in touch with the customers.

P Choudhary, another investor in the property who purchased a flat expressed his anger against the builder. He said, “We believed in the brand name of the project and fell prey to him. All emails written to the builders office have gone futile. There has been no response. I was supposed to get my possession in December 2021.”  

When Pune Pulse contacted the Pune Municipal Corporation office estate department they informed that the process to register the name of the property on the 7 / 12 extract has begun and within one month they should get the occupation certificate. Further to this they can get the possessions of the property.
