Pune: “The people of Pune have shown tremendous enthusiasm in choosing Murli Dhar Mohol as their candidate. Because of the overwhelming support from the people of Pune, Mohol’s victory is just a formality. All that remains is to officially declare it. Beyond that, it’s just a matter of crossing the finish line,” expressed the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday.

Candidate Murli Dhar Mohol, representing the coalition of parties, filed his nomination on Thursday morning from the Pune Lok Sabha constituency. Fadnavis had this to say on the occasion:

“Pune residents have a love for both BJP and the coalition. We have given the candidacy to someone who has done excellent work as the mayor, and the public is with us. The late Girish Bapat has left us with an excellent legacy of hardworking activists, which is why we have no doubt about Murli Dhar Mohol’s victory here.”

He also questioned the significance of the public statements of Nationalist Congress Party’s Sharad Pawar, even on their candidate list, which only fills 10 out of 542 positions.
