Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad police seizes adulterated paneer from dairy unit

The anti-extortion cell of the Pimpri Chinchwad police conducted a raid at Maharashtra dairy for manufacturing adulterated paneer.

The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police, Pimpri Chinchwad against traders manufacturing and selling adulterated food in the jurisdiction of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. Senior Police Inspector Arvind Pawar and the Anti-Extortion Squad conducted patrolling within the jurisdiction of Talegaon Chinchwad Police Station.

Based on the information received to Constable Pradeep Godambe and Police Naik Ashish Botke, Food Safety Officer along with Drug Administration raided Maharashtra Milk Dairy, located at Survey no. 295, Chinchwad Pune near Chittarao Ganpi Temple, and detained the owners and workers of the Maharashtra Milk Dairy Sajid Mustafa Shaikh, Javed Mustafa Shaikh, Rakesh Sribuddharam Singh, Altaf Hazratuddin Shaikh, Abhishek Kumar Yogeshbabu Yadav and Sarfraz Sharafullah Shaikh.

The police seized 140 liters of acetic acid worth Rs 14,000, 60 liters of RBD palm oil worth Rs 6,320, 25 kgs of glyceryl monostearate worth Rs 4,500 used for making adulterated paneer, 875 kg of skimmed milk powder worth Rs 3,32,500, 546 kg of adulterated ready-made paneer worth Rs 109,200. Total goods worth Rs 4,66,520 were seized by the FDA officials.
