Authorities say that the women were brought in under false pretenses and later coerced into prostitution. The operation was allegedly used as a front for earning money through unlawful means, which the accused used for personal benefit.

Inspector Vijay Thakar from Yerawada Police Station confirmed the arrests of Modasiya and Rahman on May 17. Officers also seized Rs 25,000 worth of material, including Rs 15,000 in cash, a mobile phone valued at Rs 10,000, and four condoms as evidence. A manhunt is currently underway to locate Junaid Shaikh.

A case has been filed under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, Sections 3, 4, and 5, along with Sections 143 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Further investigation is ongoing.
