Pune Police Crack Down On Child Abuse: 21-Year-Old Arrested
In a shocking case of child abuse, a 21-year-old man was arrested by the Bund Garden police in Pune for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor two years ago. The victim, now 14 years old and studying in class VIII, mustered the courage to report the incident after being empowered by her school’s ‘Good Touch Bad Touch’ awareness program.
According to the police, the accused had administered an unknown injection to the victim, rendering her unconscious, before sexually assaulting her. The perpetrator then took explicit photos of the victim and used them to blackmail and silence her, threatening to circulate the images if she disclosed the incident or failed to meet him.
The brave victim, encouraged by the school program, confided in her teachers about the traumatic experience. The teachers immediately informed the girl’s family, and her mother lodged a complaint at the Bund Garden police station. The police swiftly registered a case and took the accused into custody.
The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the abuse, including the nature and source of the injection used to sedate the victim. Authorities are also probing the motivations behind the accused’s heinous actions.
“This case highlights the significance of awareness programs like ‘Good Touch Bad Touch’ in empowering victims to speak out,” said an officer from the Bund Garden police station.
