Pune Police Crush 1,768 Modified Bullet Silencers In Special Drive
Pune, March 13, 2025 – Taking strict action against illegal modified Bullet silencers causing noise pollution, the Pune Traffic Police conducted a “Bullet Silencer Special Drive” and destroyed 1,768 modified silencers using a road roller.
The operation was carried out following orders from Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and under the guidance of Joint Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma and Additional Commissioner (Eastern Region) Manoj Patil.
Due to an increase in complaints from citizens about modified Bullet silencers creating loud noise in residential areas and on public roads, police launched a city-wide crackdown. These loud modifications not only disturbed senior citizens, women, and peace-loving residents but also encouraged reckless driving among youths.
Following directives from the Police Commissioner, all traffic divisions took part in the drive, leading to the seizure and destruction of 1,768 silencers. Additionally, authorities have warned garage owners involved in selling and installing such silencers that strict action will be taken against them.
The special operation will continue to curb noise pollution and ensure road safety.
