Pune, October 8, 2024 – The Deccan Police have stepped up surveillance at Hanuman Tekdi following an incident where two students were harassed, assaulted, and robbed of a ₹70,000 gold chain last Saturday. In response, police patrols will now occur every 30 minutes in the area to prevent further crimes.

The police patrol teams will visit the area twice an hour to ensure the safety of visitors.”

Investigations are underway, though progress has been slowed by the lack of CCTV cameras in the vicinity. Nimbalkar added that the police are working with Chatuhshringi Police to identify suspects linked to the case.

This incident marks the second robbery in the city within a week, with another group of students from Nagaland recently attacked and robbed in Baner Tekdi.
