Pune Police raids Lulla nagar Hookah parlour; goods seized from rooftop hotel

Around 10 pm on Wednesday (7th February), the Pune City Police’s Social Security Cell of the Crime Branch conducted a raid at a rooftop hookah parlour at a hotel in the Lullanagar area of Kondhwa. Foreign liquor and hookah flavours were among the seized goods.

In the case filed at the Kondhwa police station, the owner & another person have been booked.

According to a senior Kondhwa Police officer, Vegeta – Fine Dine and Lounge in Lullanagar is home to an illegal hookah parlour. The Social Security Cell was tipped off about this establishment. Based on this information, the police conducted a raid at 10 p.m., during which they seized materials related to the illicit activity, including tobacco, hookah flavour, and foreign liquor.

A team consisting of Police Constables Ajay Rane, Tushar Dhivarkar, Sagar Kekan, Amey Rasal, Amit Jamdade, Hanmant Kamble, and Kishore Bhujbal led by Assistant Police Inspector Rajesh Malegave carried out the operation. Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav and Crime Branch DCP Amol Zende gave the order for the action to be taken.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar had previously made it clear that only herbal hookahs are allowed.
