In a significant development, the Pune police have shared a video capturing the intense pursuit and subsequent arrest of two terror suspects, Mohammad Imran Mohammad Yunus Khan and Mohammad Yunus Mohammad Yakub Saki, in Kothrud on July 18.

The video footage portrays a gripping sequence of events as the police apprehend the suspects in a daring chase. However, one of the most-wanted terror suspects, Mohammad Shahnawaz Shafiurrehman Alam, managed to evade capture, leaving authorities on a determined manhunt.

The arrested suspects, Mohammad Imran Khan and Mohammad Yunus Saki, were tracked down in Kothrud, marking a significant breakthrough in the investigation. Notably, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had identified them as prime suspects in a case registered in Rajasthan.

The video clip unfolds with Shahnawaz attempting to conceal himself within a building at around 4:19 pm. In the ensuing minutes, Yunus emerges, seemingly unaware of the unfolding situation. He maneuvers his way past Police Constable Bala Rafiq Shaikh, dashing towards an apartment in a bid to escape apprehension.

Amidst the chase, the constable’s phone slips from his grasp. However, the determined officers immediately resume pursuit of the fleeing suspects. After a tense two-minute ordeal, Yunus is finally captured. Despite his repeated attempts to escape, the constable successfully secures Yunus on a motorbike and transports him to the police station.

The success of the operation can be attributed to the diligent efforts of Police Inspector Hemant Patil, alongside his team comprising Constables Pradeep Chavan, Amol Najan, Bala Rafiq Shaikh, and Mangesh Shelke.

Interestingly, it was revealed by the police that Mohammad Shahnawaz Shafiurrehman Alam was initially detained alongside Mohammad Imran Khan and Mohammad Yunus Saki. However, he managed to evade capture while the police were conducting a search of their residence in Kondhwa.

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism (ATS) squad has taken further steps in their pursuit of justice, publicly releasing an image of the fugitive, Mohammad Shahnawaz Shafiurrehman Alam, who remains at large in connection with the case.

State ATS Superintendent of Police, Jayant Meena, disclosed that Shahnawaz has been on the run since July 18 and efforts are actively underway to locate and apprehend him.
