Pune, April 10: Two SUVs were seized by Pune Police after a video showing them dangerously speeding inside a residential society in Wagholi surfaced on social media. The incident occurred on Wednesday at Nyati Elan society and has sparked serious concerns over safety within gated communities.
The vehicles involved — a Mahindra Thar and a Mahindra Scorpio — were reportedly racing through the internal roads of the society at high speed, posing a threat to the residents. When confronted by locals, the drivers allegedly hurled abuses and issued threats.
The video, which quickly went viral, prompted residents to file an official complaint. Responding to the matter, Pune Police took immediate action by confiscating both vehicles and initiating legal proceedings against the owners.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the police confirmed the action and reiterated their commitment to public safety, warning that such reckless behavior will not be tolerated.
Authorities have stated that further investigation is underway, and those found responsible will face appropriate legal consequences.
