Pune Police takes action against three hookah parlours in Koregaon Park
Pune Police raids Lulla nagar Hookah parlour; goods seized from rooftop hotel
The social security cell of the Pune City Police has taken action against a hookah parlour running illegally in the Koregaon park area of Pune. The police seized tobacco and tobacco-related products from a rooftop restaurant located in the Gera Legend building, named Rock Water.
Koregaon Park police station officials seized materials worth Rs 21,200 and filed a case against the violators. Police have also arrested an individual in this case.
On January 23, Narcotics Cell Squad 1 of Crime Branch of the Pune Police city took action against two more hookah parlours named Drama 9 located on Raja Bahadur Mill Station road and at Mocha hotel in Koregaon park Lane number 7. Police have seized hookah pots, tobacco and tobacco products worth Rs 18,500 from Drama 9 and products worth Rs 34,000 from Mocha hotel in Koregaon Park. A total of 8 people have been booked including the hotel owners and the hotel managers have been arrested in these cases by the police. The action was led by Vinayak Gaikwad, Senior Police Inspector, Narcotics Cell who formed two teams and undertook the operation.
The action was taken under leadership of Retesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Pune city, Sandeep Karnik, Joint commissioner of Police, Additional Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale, Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, ACP Sunil Pawar, Crime Branch 1, SPI Vinayak Gaikwad, ACP Laxman Dhengale, Shailaja Jankar, Police constable Dalvi and others.
