For the past ten days, Pune city has seen a decrease in the number of Covid19 cases. Even though the Pune Municipal Corporation has restricted the timings of essential services to remain open in the city between 7 am to 11 am, there are several people roaming around the city without any valid reason.

To act tougher on such violators, Pune City Police has decided to tighten the checks on various Naka bandi locations and shall take strict action against those found violating the norms from 12 noon today onwards.

To step up the checks, the naka bandi locations might be increased in the city limits. But Commissioner of Police, Pune City Amitabh Gupta said, “So far citizens are complying to the rules. So we haven’t yet decided on increasing the check points.”

Pune Police has appealed to the citizens to stay at home and follow the guidelines issued by the authorities.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Amitabh Gupta, Commissioner, Pune Police said, “Our efforts to curb movements of citizens are continued. We are taking strict action against those found violating the norms. We are constantly informing people to stay at home.”
