Pune Police Website Draws Criticism from Citizens Over Incorrect Mobile Numbers

Pune: The numbers posted on the website of the Pune city police are either wrong or out of service. If the contact numbers of the police force, who are responsible for taking care of the citizens, are not updated on the website, then it becomes impossible for common people to contact them in case of an emergency. The contact numbers of the officers should be updated as soon as possible as people are facing issues to contact them.
As per the law, it is mandatory for every officer to voluntarily disclose his position details along with correct contact details so that people can easily reach out to them. However here in Pune, contact numbers mentioned on the websites are either wrong or not in service.
When contacted Ramnath Pokale, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) said, “The work on updating Information is in progress. Soon, the contact details of the officers will be available on the website.”
