A tragic incident unfolded near Landmark Garden society on Kalyani Nagar – Airport Road in Pune in the early hours of Sunday, May 19th. Two IT engineers lost their lives when a luxury car, driven by a teenager, collided with their bike. In a recent development, the police have arrested the teenager’s grandfather in connection with the accident.

An FIR has been filed at Yerwada police station against Surendra Kumar Agarwal, the father of builder Vishal Agarwal from Bramha Realty and Infrastructure. He is accused of unlawfully detaining their driver, who had accompanied the teenager to two pubs in the Koregaon Park area. After consuming alcohol, the teenager insisted on driving the sports car, despite objections from the driver. The driver informed Vishal Agarwal about the teenager’s insistence, who then allowed the teenager to take the wheel, with the driver beside him.

According to an officer involved in the case, Surendra Kumar Agarwal pressured the driver at the Yerwada police station to absolve the minor of responsibility for the accident. The driver was coerced into taking the blame upon himself. These details emerged during the investigation, as revealed in the driver’s statement.

The arrest of the teenager’s grandfather sheds light on the alleged attempts to manipulate the situation following the tragic accident. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities determined to bring justice to the families of the victims and hold accountable those responsible for the reckless actions that led to the loss of lives.
