Several motorists driving from Vitthal Rukmini Mandir, Sai Dwarika & nearby areas in Yeolewadi find it difficult to drive because of the traffic issues due to one-lane closure because of road work.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Mitesh Shah, Resident & Everyday commuter in Yevlewadi, said “Road work is going on near Vitthal Rukmini Mandir in Yevlewadi. The road has been dug up due to which one lane has been closed. Only one side of the road is open where encroachments are there. So, it becomes very difficult to drive vehicles. The PMC isn’t expediting & completing the work. Eventually, the construction work will get completed in some time. But the problem is of encroachments due to which the other lane gets narrower.”

Ryan Dennis, Resident of Kondhwa, said “The PMC has mastered the art of making excuses for their bad road construction and road repairs. They close citizen-complaints as “Resolved” in their online reports without actually fixing bad roads.  Even without the monsoons, their road repair work breaks down within a month. Entire road stretches have caved in. After they repair potholes, those sections of road become uneven.”

Rohidas Konde, Resident of Yevlewadi, said “The road has been dug up for some time now. Only a small patch for concretization must have remained but that is also not getting completed soon. The base on that road is created & strengthened, only the concretizing part is remaining. But the concretizing part is not progressing at all. The road has been dug up from Sai Dwarika to Shree Srushti. Due to the road work, there are traffic issues everyday.”

Sidram Patil, Junior Engineer, PMC, said “The concretizing work of the road is in progress and will be completed in one or 2 days.”
