Pune: Prostitution Racket Disguised as Spa Busted in Koregaon Park

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Koregaon Park Police uncovered a prostitution racket operating under the guise of a spa in the upscale area of Koregaon Park, Pune. The police action led to the rescue of three young women who had been lured into prostitution.

Raid and Rescue Operation

Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ashwini Satpute, a team conducted a raid at Viva Spa located in Harmesh Vishal Building, Lane No. 7, Koregaon Park. The raid was prompted by information received regarding the illicit activities disguised as massage services. During the operation, the police successfully rescued three young women, hailing from Nagaland, West Bengal, and Pune, who were being exploited in the racket.

It was revealed that the prostitution ring was orchestrated by two women associated with the massage parlor. These individuals had enticed the victims with promises of lucrative earnings, only to subject them to exploitation in the illegal business. The decoy operation, where an undercover customer was sent to confirm the suspicions, provided the necessary evidence for the police to carry out the raid.

Two women involved in running the prostitution racket have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Human Trafficking Prevention Act of 2022. Meanwhile, the rescued young women are receiving support and assistance from the authorities.
