Pune Pulse Impact: PMC Commissioner Orders Removal Of Illegal Hoardings In Mohamadwadi After Citizens Raise Safety Concerns
Pune, November 12, 2025:
Prompt action by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner has led to the removal of illegal hoardings in Mohamadwadi’s SM Ghule Chowk area following complaints from vigilant residents and civic activists. The hoardings, erected without permission, had raised major safety and legal concerns among locals.
A letter dated September 25, 2025, from the Executive Engineer to the Assistant Commissioner (Hadapsar Regional Office) had already highlighted that the hoarding was obstructing ongoing civic development projects such as road expansion and footpath construction in Ward 26 (now Ward 41).
It also warned that such structures posed a threat to public safety and called for verification of permissions and immediate action.

BJP social activist Jaymala Dhankikar stated, “These hoardings endanger lives and block civic works. Notices must be issued immediately, and officials who allowed this must be held accountable.”
Residents have welcomed the PMC Commissioner’s swift response and removal drive, expressing gratitude for the proactive step against unsafe and unauthorized structures. They have urged the civic body to continue strict enforcement to prevent recurrence and to take firm action against those responsible for such illegal activities.
