Pune Railway Authorities fines 20,199 people for travelling without ticket

Pune: The Pune railway division has fined 20,199 people for travelling without a proper ticket and collected an amount of Rs 1.53 crores from them in July 2023.  Additionally, 8435 people were fined for irregular travels and a fine of Rs 48.88 lakhs was collected from them.

Similarly, 150 people were fined for failing to make bookings while transporting products and a fine of Rs 15,000 was collected from them. 

The action was taken with the assistance of ticket inspectors and the Railway Protection Force under the supervision of Indu Dubey, Divisional Railway Manager, Brijesh Kumar Singh, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Dr. Milind Hirve, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, and Ramdas Bhise, Divisional Commercial Manager.

The railway administration has urged passengers to travel with a proper  ticket, or else they must pay a fine under the Railway Act. Further, they added that such a ticket checking drive is being carried out continuously.
