Pune railway authorities open additional ticket booking counter to handle extra rush of passengers

The Pune railway division of Central Railway on Tuesday, July 25 opened an extra counter to ease the passenger ticket reservation process. 

IRCTC PRS ticket booking website was having technical issue since 02.56 hrs to 13.28 hrs on July 25. It remained close for over 11 hours. This technical snag caused inconvenience to several passengers across the country.

Assuming the rush that would attract at the booking counters, the authorities opened an extra counter. The railway authorities informed, “Today additional PRS counters are opened at 02 important PRS locations on Pune division of CR.

Details as under:

1. Pune – Existing 7 counters and additional 1 counter is opened. *Total – 8 counters working*

2. Kolhapur – Existing 2 counters and additional 1 counter is opened.*Total – 3 counters working*

It is observed that presently there is no rush on PRS counters. On an average, 2 to 4 passengers are in queue.

Extra PRS counters as required shall be opened in case of rush in existing counters.”
