Pune: Ravindra Dhangekar Likely To Join Sena's Shinde Faction Amid Strong Social Media Hints

Pune: Former Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar is almost certain to join Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), as indicated by his recent social media posts. Following these hints, Shiv Sena leader and Industries Minister Uday Samant has officially invited him to join the party.
Responding to the speculation, Dhangekar stated, “I will not hide. A decision will be taken after discussing with my supporters,” further confirming the possibility of his shift. If he joins Shiv Sena, it could weaken Congress’s influence in the city.
Dhangekar had created a major political upset two and a half years ago by defeating BJP’s stronghold candidate in the Kasba Assembly by-election. However, he later lost both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections to BJP candidates. His rumored defection to Shiv Sena gained momentum after he posted a symbolic image on social media and met Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. With Samant openly offering him entry into the party, his switch now seems to be a mere formality.
