Pune, May 17, 2026: Residents of the Dhayari area on Sinhgad Road have raised serious concerns after a Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) plant allegedly resumed operations in a residential locality, triggering complaints of severe noise and air pollution.

Local citizens have expressed anger over the continued functioning of the cement mixer plant within a densely populated residential area, claiming that authorities have failed to take strict action despite repeated complaints.

A video recorded at around 2:30 am on May 17 reportedly shows the plant operating late into the night, causing significant noise pollution and releasing cement dust into the surrounding area. Residents said the pollution has been affecting sleep and causing respiratory and other health-related problems.

According to citizens, children, senior citizens and patients are among the worst affected by the deteriorating environmental conditions in the locality.

Residents further alleged that constant cement dust in the air, concrete deposits on roads and heavy vehicle movement during late-night hours have made the area unsafe and unhealthy. They claimed that despite bringing the issue to the attention of local authorities multiple times, no effective measures have been implemented.

In response, citizens have now launched a special campaign demanding justice and a cleaner environment. As part of the initiative, residents have decided to send formal complaints against the RMC plants directly to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in New Delhi through registered post.

Residents stated that if the local administration fails to ensure clean air and a safe living environment, approaching the PMO remains their only option.
