Pune residents come Together for Clean Air

Pune: The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MOEFCC), Government of India, is currently implementing the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) at the national level.

As per the information provided on September 7, 2023, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) organized various awareness programmes as part of a campaign to reduce air pollution according to the theme ‘Together for Air’.

The event included a signature campaign, where Vikram Kumar, Commissioner, PMC, Vikas Dhakne, Additional Municipal Commissioner, PMC and heads of various departments signed a pledge to support the cause.

The Pune Municipal Corporation aired a video clip on air pollution on the screen, and more than 150 LED boards of the Smart City Corporation were displayed in the same video clip. Additionally, signature campaigns and selfie corner programmes were conducted at locations such as Katraj Zoo, Rainbow Environment Centre, and the Environment Department at Bharati Vidyapeeth. A one-day workshop was also organized at the Rainbow Environment Centre for students and teachers from AISSMS Polytechnic College.
