Pune Residents File Police Complaint Over Alleged ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ Slogans In Parvati Area
Pune, March 9, 2026: Residents of the Parvati area in Pune have lodged a formal complaint with the police after an individual was allegedly heard chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans late on Saturday night. Locals have demanded a detailed investigation and strict legal action in the matter.
According to the complaint, the accused has been identified as Aman Mulla, a resident of Janata Wasahat in Parvati. Residents claim that the alleged sloganeering in support of Pakistan created resentment among people in the neighbourhood and raised concerns about potential disturbances to social harmony in the area.
A memorandum regarding the incident was submitted to the Senior Police Inspector at the Parvati Police Station. In the complaint, residents stated that chanting slogans praising a foreign nation while living in India undermines the country’s sovereignty and hurts the sentiments of patriotic citizens.
The complainants also warned that failure to address such incidents promptly could lead to increased social tension in the future. They have therefore urged the authorities to conduct an immediate inquiry and take appropriate legal action if the allegations are confirmed.
The complaint was submitted on behalf of Sakal Hindu Samaj, Pune City, and bears the signatures of the organisation’s representatives along with the official stamp of the Parvati Police Station.
Police sources indicated that the matter will be examined and an investigation initiated to verify the facts. Further legal action will depend on the findings of the inquiry.
Meanwhile, the incident has become a topic of discussion in the locality. Residents have appealed to the public to maintain calm and act responsibly to preserve communal harmony.
