Pune: The Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pune has started a helpline number to file a complaint against the erring auto rickshaw drivers. The helpline number 1800-120-8040 of ‘Aaple Sarkar‘ portal has been made available between 8 am to 8 pm for registering a complaint. Alternatively, residents can register the complaint on the portal itself.

More than one lakh auto rickshaw drivers are serving passengers in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad cities and there have been unpleasant instances. So to register a complaint against auto rickshaw drivers for charging more than meter fare, rash driving, unruly behavior and more such related issues, a helpline number has been made available.

Earlier, the system to register a complaint with the RTO was difficult as the residents had to send the complaint through e-mail or go in person to the RTO. RTO had also launched a helpline number 1.5 years ago for the benefit of citizens.

“Citizens can register their complaints through the ‘Aple Sarkar‘ portal. Helpline numbers are available for residents who want to complain about the erring auto rickshaw drivers. They can avail the service during office hours,” said Ajit Shinde, RTO officer.
