The residents of Vadachiwadi Road in Undri are facing severe challenges due to the recent rains, which have left the road in a deplorable state. The water accumulation from the rain has not only damaged the road but also led to the flow of nearby garbage, creating unsanitary conditions and posing significant health risks. Additionally, the deteriorating road condition increases the likelihood of accidents.

A collective appeal from residents of Dynamic Grandeur, 38 Majestic Park, Aero Nest, Astonia Classic, and Phoenix Society highlights the urgency of the situation. They are calling on local leadership, officials, and the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to take immediate measures to address the issues. The residents have emphasized the need to redirect the rainwater into appropriate drainage systems, remove the accumulated silt and garbage, repair the damaged road, and fill the potholes.

Given the presence of schools, hospitals, and large residential areas in the vicinity, the residents stress that swift action is imperative to ensure safety and prevent further deterioration.

Responding to the concerns, PMC Engineer Sudhir Chavhan informed Pune Pulse, “We are trying to resolve the issue of potholes within this week. Road repair tenders have already been published, but the reconstruction work can only start after the monsoon. We are doing our best to address the issue promptly.”

The residents await effective and timely action from the municipal authorities to restore the road and ensure the well-being of the community.
