Pune – A crucial meeting was held in Phursungi yesterday, bringing together residents from 16 merged villages within the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The gathering aimed to address various infrastructure concerns with Purandar constituency MLA Sanjay Jagtap who had organised the meeting.

Residents from Shewalewadi, Pisoli, Handewadi, Autadewadi, Holkarwadi, Wadachiwadi, Undri, and neighboring areas highlighted several issues, including incomplete projects by Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, inadequate road infrastructure, the need for bridges and culverts, absent street lights causing safety issues, and insufficient drainage. They also called for the construction of amenities, overhead water tanks, and development of DP roads.

A significant concern is the lack of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for these villages. The residents emphasized that without DPR approval from the state government, the villages cannot access necessary funds for infrastructure development. They are pushing for expedited DPR publication to secure the required funding.

Traffic congestion around InfoCity and non-functional streetlight bulbs were also raised as major issues. Additionally, the slow progress on road repairs between Bishops School in Undri and Sanskriti School has worsened road conditions in several areas.

Members of the Mohammadwadi Undri Residents Welfare  Development   Foundation represented by Suniel Aiyer and Renuka Suryavanshi also raised the safety concerns due to online delivery platforms causing trouble near Kad Nagar, expediting the drainage line work in Undri as well as relocating the high tension poles causing major chaos at Kad Nagar chowk in Undri to a safer place.
