Pune Rly Station to get 100 CCTV cameras with facial recognition technology by March 2024

Pune: In order to increase surveillance, the Pune Railway Station is going to get 120 CCTV cameras by March 2024 which will have face recognition technology.

Dr Ramdas Bhise, Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) And PRO, Pune Railways said, “The age of conventional CCTV cameras is drawing to a close. By March next year, these cameras will be replaced by new ones. Cameras play an important role in the resolution of crimes. Not only in traditional policing but also in the enhancement of passenger safety and security with the help of advanced cameras and FSS software.”

As per further information, this is a part of the project of the Central Railways planning to install a video surveillance system with 3652 CCTV cameras against the Nirbhaya fund in the stations under the A1 category, A category, B category, and C category. The CCTV system will be installed at 117 stations of the Central Railway. In addition, 2470 CCTV cameras will be installed at the 247 stations of Central Railway under the D&E category.
