Pune: RMC Operations To Resume From May 9; Association Announces Citizen Helpline For Complaints
Pune, May 8, 2026: The Pune RMC Association has announced that Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) operations across Pune district will resume from Saturday, May 9, 2026, following discussions with government authorities and stakeholders regarding operational guidelines for the industry.
In an official press release issued on Friday, the association thanked the district administration and various government departments for extending support in resolving issues faced by the RMC sector in Pune.

The association expressed gratitude to District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Naval Kishore Ram and Additional CP Traffic Manoj Patil, along with officials from the Traffic Police, Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).
According to the association, authorities have taken positive steps toward creating a uniform and practical Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the RMC industry in Pune district.
The association also acknowledged the support received from several industry bodies and organisations, including NAREDCO, CREDAI, Builders Association of India and other stakeholders connected with the construction and infrastructure sector.
The Pune RMC Association stated that after holding an internal meeting attended by more than 300 RMC members and reviewing discussions held with government authorities, a decision was taken to restart operations in compliance with directions issued by the district administration, civic bodies, Traffic Police and pollution control authorities.
As part of its new public accountability initiative, the association has also announced plans to launch a dedicated toll-free citizen helpline. The helpline number is expected to be announced shortly.
Citizens will be able to report issues such as traffic rule violations by transit mixers, rash driving, pollution caused by RMC vehicles or plants, and environmental or public nuisance created by RMC facilities.

The association stated that all complaints received through the helpline will be taken seriously and addressed in coordination with the concerned authorities.
The industry body further assured citizens that it remains committed to sustainable development, environmental responsibility and infrastructure growth in the Pune region.
In the statement, the association highlighted the importance of the RMC industry in the construction sector, stating that concrete is among the most consumed materials globally after water and plays a vital role in infrastructure development.
“We are not the problem; we are part of the solution,” the association stated in its release.
The press conference was issued by Pradip Popatrao Walhekar, President of the Pune RMC Association.
