Pune: The alternate route connecting 8 villages in Maval taluka, Pune which is just beside the under-construction bridge built under Chief Minister Rural Road Scheme (Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana), was washed away due to heavy rainfall in the area.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Ayush Prasad, CEO, Pune Zilla Parishad said, “The alternate route beside the under-construction bridge, connecting 8 villages of Maval taluka, has been washed away. It was a low-lying road, so stormwater discharge is very rapid. Due to heavy rainfall, the force of water was huge which washed away the road. We do not recommend anybody driving on such a path.”

As per information from Ayush Prasad, the 8 villages namely Budhawadi, Vadivale, Nesave, Khandshi, Valakh, Velholi, Sangise and Umbarwadi, there is an alternative route from Kamshet to Mundhavare Marg. Although, the road is not built on a 1300 to 1400 metre section, work at other places has begun by the concerned department on Friday. As a result, commuters from Vadivale, Valakh, Sangise, Budhawadi, and Velholi will have to travel a long distance.

Also, for these 8 villages, there is an alternative route via Nane Maval to Kamshet which is as follows:

Khandshi – Umbarwadi – Govitri – via Nane Maval – Kamshet
