Pune, June 11 – In a startling incident that shocked commuters and social media users alike, a man was seen hanging onto the windshield of a moving car in Pune’s Viman Nagar area on Monday morning. The dramatic episode, captured on a dashcam around 10:40 AM on Tuesday, unfolded like a high-octane movie scene, showing the man clinging to the damaged glass as the car sped through traffic.

The video quickly went viral online, raising fresh alarm over road safety and aggressive driving behavior in the city. While the reason behind the incident remains unconfirmed, preliminary reactions suggest it could be another case of road rage an increasingly common and dangerous occurrence on Pune’s roads.

“It’s terrifying to watch something like this unfold in real life. There seems to be no regard for life or law anymore,” a user posted online, echoing public outrage.

In recent years, Pune has seen a surge in reckless road incidents, including multiple cases where traffic violators have dragged police officers on their vehicles in attempts to escape checkpoints. Though no police personnel were involved in Monday’s case, the sheer recklessness drew widespread condemnation.

As this incident gripped the eastern side of the city, chaos brewed in the western corridor due to a major political event. The Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) celebrated its foundation day at the Balewadi Sports Complex, drawing large crowds, VIPs, and media presence.

The event triggered massive traffic snarls along the NH48, Radha Chowk, and adjoining service lanes. Frustrated commuters reported school buses, private vehicles, and emergency traffic stuck for hours. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “NH48 stretch and Radha Chowk are completely jammed. School buses and private cars are stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic.”

With both shocking visuals and citywide gridlock unfolding simultaneously, Pune witnessed a morning of mayhem that once again highlighted the urgent need for stronger road safety enforcement and traffic management.
