Pune : Robbers Smash Car Window, Make Off with Cash and Ornaments on Boat Club Road
In an unfortunate incident that unfolded on August 19 between 8:30 pm and 10:50 pm, unidentified culprits carried out a daring robbery by breaking into a parked car near Boat Club Road in Pune. The incident has left the owner, Dr. Raman Reddy, a 54-year-old medical professional from Udgir, along with his family, stunned and disheartened.
Dr. Reddy had ventured into Pune for a visit, accompanied by his family. On the evening in question, he decided to enjoy a meal out with his friends. After parking his vehicle near RiverSide Villas on Boat Club Road, he proceeded with his plans, unaware of the misfortune awaiting him.
To his dismay, upon returning to his parked car after the dinner gathering, Dr. Reddy was met with a distressing sight. The right rear windowpane of his car had been forcefully shattered, providing an entry point for the criminals. A purse, containing not only valuable gold ornaments but also ₹8,000 in cash and crucial documents, had vanished, leaving a trail of loss behind.
The stolen items, including the cash and gold ornaments, were estimated to be worth around ₹49,000. The incident was promptly reported to the local police, who have since been working diligently to apprehend the individuals responsible for this brazen act.
Law enforcement authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, utilizing CCTV camera footage from the vicinity to aid in the identification of the perpetrators. With advancements in surveillance technology, authorities are optimistic about their prospects of swiftly tracking down and arresting the culprits.
A case has been officially registered at the Koregaon Park police station, with the charges falling under the provisions of Section 379 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code.
