Pune, January 17, 2025 – Sadhu Vaswani Mission held a two-day program on January 16 and 17, 2025, to observe the 59th Punyatithi (death anniversary) of Sadhu Vaswani. 

Prayer sessions, satsangs, dawn procession, langar, midnight vigil and recorded talks of Sadhu Vaswani, Dada J.P. Vaswani and LIVE talks of Didi Krishna, current head of Sadhu Vaswani Mission marked the observance. Nitin Gadkari and other dignitaries paid tribute via social media.

16th January programs started with a dawn procession (Prabhat Pheri) at 5.30AM, led by Didi Krishna Kumari. It started and ended at the sacred samadhi of Sadhu Vaswani.  The procession, went through the streets of Pune Camp, accompanied by bhajans and kirtans and included students from St. Mira’s Secondary School. Housing societies along the route had set up decorated pedestals of Sadhu Vaswani and Dada J.P. Vaswani, where Didi Krishna lit ceremonial lamps. The morning concluded with a havan, satsang, and a recorded discourse by Sadhu Vaswani. At 8:22 am, silence was observed, marking the saint’s passing.

Afternoon sessions included recitations from Nuri Granth, the sacred scripture containing poems and songs by Sadhu Vaswani. In the evening recorded talks of Sadhu Vaswani and Dada J.P. Vaswani were played. Dada Vaswani said, “If you move on the path of desire, you will never get satisfied.” The day culminated with a midnight vigil.

On January 17, the afternoon program featured a havan, satsang, the release of a new edition of the sacred Nuri Granth and a talk by Didi Krishna Kumari. She spoke on the life and teachings of Sadhu Vaswani. Guru Langar (fellowship meals) was served to all.

The day included Deepak Yatra at Sadhu Vaswani Chowk, where devotees lit lamps in gratitude to the saint. A recorded prayer by Dada J.P. Vaswani and theatrical play on the life and teachings of Sadhu Vaswani brought the commemorative program to a close.

Sadhu Vaswani Mission also organized extensive seva activities. New clothes were distributed to rural school children, sarees and petticoats were given to women in the red-light area, and ration kits were provided to the needy families. Sadhu Vaswani Centres worldwide also conducted seva and events to mark the occasion.
