Dr. Eknath Pawar, Dean of Sassoon Hospital, has addressed concerns following a viral video showing abandoned patients, specifically focusing on a 32-year-old patient allegedly left in a remote location.

Dr. Pawar spoke about the incident. He clarified that the patient, originally from Madhya Pradesh, was admitted to the hospital on June 16 after an accident. The necessary treatments and surgery were conducted on June 27. He further informed that the patient had been distressed, frequently requesting discharge and expressing a desire to return home. Recently, the patient reportedly ran away from the hospital.

The Dean emphasized that if the video’s allegations proved accurate, appropriate action would be taken. He stressed that an internal investigation had been initiated to examine the matter thoroughly. Dr. Pawar assured that if any resident doctors, including Dr. Adinath, were found to have acted improperly, strict action would be taken against them.
