Pune : Savitribai Phule Pune University Unveils Academic Year Schedule, Commencing on August 21

Pune: The eagerly anticipated academic year schedule for various departments at Savitribai Phule Pune University has recently been unveiled. With the dawn of August, the university has announced that the inaugural session of the 2023-24 academic year is slated to commence on August 21. Both students and affiliated college administrations were keenly awaiting the timetable’s release.

In response to the challenges posed by the pandemic, higher education swiftly embraced online learning options to mitigate academic disruptions for students. Subsequently, online examinations became the norm. As the grip of the pandemic wanes, universities have been advised by the state government to recalibrate their academic calendars. Pune University, after a brief delay, has now promptly revealed its schedule at the outset of August.

As outlined in the schedule, the university’s first session will span from August 21 to December 16, while the second session is slated for January 1 to May 18. The Department of Academic Admission at the university has officially disseminated this circular, outlining the timeline.

The Common Entrance Examination, a critical component for admission to a plethora of degree and post-graduate courses across science and technology, humanities, commerce and management, and interdisciplinary studies, has already been successfully conducted by the university. The subsequent admission process is currently underway. The university’s academic year schedule has thoughtfully incorporated the durations for both winter and summer vacations.

For the academic year 2023-24, the timeline is as follows:

  • First Semester: August 21 to December 16
  • Second Semester: January 1 to May 18, 2024
  • Winter Vacation: December 18 to December 30
  • Summer Vacation: May 19 to June 30, 2024
