Pune School Hosts Memorial Football Tournament In Memory Of Aariz Shaikh
Pune, April 17, 2026: The Bishop’s School Camp hosted the Aariz Shaikh Memorial Football Tournament to honor the memory of Aariz Shaikh, whose legacy continues to resonate across the school’s grounds and community.
Aariz Shaikh lost his life due to a water tanker earlier this month on NIBM Mohamadwadi road.
Organized as a tribute to Aariz’s passion and dreams, the tournament aimed to inspire students to embody the spirit of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship that he stood for. The opening match, held on April 15, reflected these values as participants played with determination and unity.
The first game saw a competitive clash between The Bishop’s School, Camp and The Bishop’s Co-Ed School, Kalyani Nagar, with The Bishop’s School, Camp securing a victory on their home ground, marking a heartfelt tribute.
The tournament continued with an exciting match between St. Mary’s School and Hutchings School, where Hutchings School emerged victorious after a closely contested game.
Remembered fondly as “A.S 7,” Aariz Shaikh’s spirit remains alive in the hearts of many. Organizers expressed hope that the tournament will continue to inspire and positively impact lives in the years to come.
