A school student was stabbed to death in Anandvan Society at Manerwadi on Panshet Road at the foot of Sinhagad Fort. This incident came to light on Monday (18th) around 5 pm.

The deceased student has been identified as Prakash Harisingh Rajput (age 15, Ra Anandavan Society, Manerwadi). After getting information about the incident, a team of Haveli police reached the spot. The reason for the murder, as well as the accused, is not yet known. Prakash was studying in the ninth standard at Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya in Khanapur.

Prakash went to school as usual. In the morning at school, he had a fight with other students. He came home after school at half past ten. His parents had gone to work, while his brother had gone for his 10th examination. Prakash was sleeping in his house in the farm in Anand Society, a hill in Manerwadi limits, when the assailants hit him on the head with sickles & other sharp weapons.

He ran away from home to save his life. However, he collapsed after running at hundred feet. Sub Divisional Police Officer of Haveli Division Bhausaheb Dhole Patil, Police Inspector Sachin Wangde, Enforcement Officer Santosh Todkar, Santosh Bhapkar and other policemen entered the spot. Prakash was calm in nature. He was supporting his parents by working part-time in a hotel.
