PUNE: An incident has come to light wherein a son sold a flat in his mother’s name using forged signature. Faraskhana police have registered an FIR against the son for cheating his mother.

The accused has been identified as Prashant Prithviraj Chavan, a resident of Somwar Peth. The complaint was filed by Jayshree Prithviraj Chavan (68), a resident of Mohammadwadi, Hadapsar. According to police, Jayshree Chavan’s husband was in government service. He died in 2006. After the death of her husband, she lived with her son Prashant in the Dhankawadi area.

As per the information provided, she used the retirement salary she received after her husband’s death to pay for her daily expenses. She got into an argument with Prashant and went to live with her married daughter in Mohammadwadi.

A few months later, Chavan suffered from a rare disease. In 2018, she gave the rights of the flat to his daughter. When Prashant came to know about this, he gave flat on rent. A few days later, he forged his mother’s signature and sold the flat to one person. Chavan lodged a complaint with the police after she realised of being cheated.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Dadasaheb Chudappa, Senior Police Inspector, Faraskhana Police Station, added, ”A 68-year-old woman has been duped on this case. An FIR has been registered under section 406, 420 of the Indian Penal Code.”
